SBI TOP down 1.32% as boards flash red on LJSE

Telekom Slovenije, reinsurer Sava RE and port operator Luka Koper all recorded substantial losses on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Tuesday to drag the SBI TOP index 1.32% lower. Pharma company Krka was the most traded item, contributing EUR 310,000 to the day's total turnover of roughly EUR 1m.

Slovenia seen as wonderful golfing destination at top industry event

The 21st International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), the biggest event in the industry, got under way in Ljubljana on Monday to bring together around 1,200 industry reps from over 60 countries until Thursday. The fair is seen as a chance to further promote the country as a golfing destination.

The average Slovenian family spends EUR 1,500 on heating per year, according to a survey commissioned by Borzen, the power market operator. Central heating is still the most popular heating system in the country.

Dow surges more than 500 points, posts best day since March as earnings fuel rally; Europe closes higher after Wall Street earnings; Ocado shares rise 5%

Stocks rose sharply on Tuesday after the release of strong quarterly results from some of the largest U.S. companies helped the market recover from last week's sell-off. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 543 points, with UnitedHealth outperforming. The S&P 500 gained 2.1 percent as the tech and health care sectors jumped more than 2.5 percent each. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.9 percent. Morgan Stanley jumped 5.7 percent after reporting better-than-expected earnings. Goldman Sachs' profits also beat estimates, sending the stock up 3percent. Dow-members Johnson & Johnson and UnitedHealth both posted better-than-expected earnings, sending their shares higher. Investors turned their eyes to Netflix after the close on Tuesday, as the company released its quarterly results. The company's earnings easily beat analyst expectations and sent Netflix shares up more than 14 percent in after-hours trading. However, Dow-component Walmart slashed its fiscal 2019 earnings forecast on Tuesday, citing its Flipkart acquisition. In data, job openings hit a record by surging above 7 million in August, according to the Labor Department. European stocks rose on Tuesday, as traders digested Wall Street earnings and escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and the West. The pan-European Euro Stoxx 600 index ended provisionally 1.54 percent higher with all bourses pushing into positive territory. Ocado shares rose 5.57 percent after the delivery firm received a favorable upgrade by investment bank Merrill Lynch. Telecom stocks were also one of the outperformers, with Enel shares rising by 3.43 percent after announcing it was increasing its stake in its Chilean subsidiary.

KMBN: Public call for sale of Komercijalna banka by June 30, 2019

The Government of Serbia has to announce the privatization of Komercijalna banka by June 30, 2019 and it has to sell it by the end of 2019. The government of Serbia and IMF Mission have come to this decision two weeks ago, Blic daily has learned. The Ministry of Finance has published a public call financial advisor for sale of the state shares in Komercijalna banka which is due on November 12. Thus, the sale of around 40% of Komercijalna banka capital owned by Serbia has officially begun several years after the privatization was announced. Privatization was first declared 11 years ago when EBRD increased the share capital with EUR 70 million. According to the agreement Serbia then signed with this international financial institution the state was required to sell its shares in the bank.

American Bechtel and Serbia sign memorandum on Morava Corridor – Start of construction in 2019, worth of investment EUR 800 million

The minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and the senior vice-president of American Bechtel Corporation Shaun Kenny have signed on Monday, October 15, 2018, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation for construction of the Pojate-Preljina section of the Morava Corridor, 110 km in length and the maximum worth of the investment is EUR 800 million. The road section will connect Cicevac, Stalac, Krusevac, Trstenik, Vrnjacka Banja, Kraljevo and Cacak, that is, 500,000 residents and 25,000 businesses in total.

AERO: Airports in Belgrade and Nis sign agreement on business cooperation

Acting General Director and CEO of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport JSC, Sasa Vlaisavljevic and Acting Director of the Public Enterprise Aerodrom Nis , Dusan Knezevic have signed an agreement on business cooperation today with the aim to secure and improve conditions for the overall development of aviation in the Republic of Serbia The agreement outlines the support the Belgrade Airport will provide to it colleagues in Nis. The support to the Nis Airport will be carried out in the fields of technical and technological development, professional training and employee specialization in accordance with the programme of expert teams at Belgrade airport and development of receiving and handling aircrafts, passengers, goods and mail.
